Meat Week - day 1 recap

Yesterday, I ate about 2 pounds of pork shoulder (aka pulled pork), cooked with pepper and cumin a crock pot.  Drank only tea, water, and lemon juice.

So far, I feel pretty good.  My congestion started to break up at about 9:30 last night, leaving my nose fully clear.  As it's pretty rare for me to use both nostrils at once, this is a very good sign.  On the other hand, all the protein is having a strong diuretic effect, and it's not easy to stay hydrated.  I'm also feeling a very strong urge to eat dairy or grain.  Since both foods are believed to affect the brain in a way similar to mild opiates, this may be a sign of physical addiction as well as dietary habit.  6 more days of this will not be easy, if only because I may get very bored.  That's also part of my goal, however, to be so bored that adding vegetables and fruits back into my diet is variety enough to live on, at least most of the time.

Weight is down slightly - 208 lb.
