Meat Week - day 2 recap

Just eggs and more pulled pork yesterday, 6 of the first and about a pound of the latter.

I'm in ketosis now. I can tell by the change in my breath. Supposedly your mouth can have measurable amounts of acetone in it from the exhaling of broken down ketone bodies. So, in theory, I could clean off toenail polish with my mouth right now. It's gonna have to remain a theory.

My cravings for non-meat food come and go. I drink lots of iced tea when they're strongest, and that seems to help. I had a short period last night where I was simultaneously very hungry and repulsed by the thought of eating. As of right now I've been up for about 2 hours and I'm not really hungry yet, more of a "eh, I could eat, probably ought to" feeling. My weight's down to 205, most of the loss is likely water and bloodstream glycogen, but I don't feel dehydrated. No headaches yet, and my nose is still clear. All the puffiness I felt is long gone, which is a welcome change in the summer heat. All in all I feel much more comfortable, but the weird chemically taste in my mouth is a bit unpleasant.

And I really want a doughnut. Or a pizza. Or a burrito. Or pudding.  Just for variety.  I'm hoping the brisket I'm making later will help.
